Maggie´s – UK
The number of people being diagnosed with cancer in the UK has risen considerably in the past two decades. Maggie’s, a charity that provides free expert care and support in centres across the UK, are a lifeline for so many sufferers.
Their support services, that include psychologists and benefits advisors, look after those with cancer and their families too. In every centre, there is a bright and welcoming indoor and often outdoor space too, that people facing cancer need and deserve.
The latest Maggie’s centre is located on the Royal Free Hospital campus and was opened by their President HM the Queen at the beginning of 2024. The Wohl Legacy is one of the Founding Benefactors to the centre, supporting the Winter Garden room and the Maurice and Vivienne Wohl Garden.
The Wohl Legacy believes strongly in having spaces to take a moment, or an hour, to recentre in beautiful natural settings, away from the turbulent world. Visitors and staff alike can now take some timeout closer to nature, while being supported by Maggie’s, a charity that goes above and beyond to care and support cancer patients and their loved ones, in 24 Centres across the UK, located in the grounds of NHS hospitals.
